About:

Alison is the founder & Chief Psychotherapist of WoodsGift Counselling Services & Woodsgift Child & Adolescent Centre. 


Alison is an experienced and compassionate therapist. Steeped in research, her approach is integrated psychotherapy when working with children and adolescents. Drawing on modalities such as CBT, Narrative and Gestalt Therapy. 


With over 15 years of clinical experience in the mental health field, she is dedicated to helping young individuals navigate a range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, ASD, low self-esteem, and behavioural difficulties.


Her interventions are tailored to each child’s developmental stage and individual needs, ensuring a personalized, supportive, and engaging therapeutic experience that fosters growth, self-confidence, and emotional well-being

Órla O’Brien - Kilkenny

About:

Orla is a qualified Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychotherapist with a strong person-centred foundation. She works integratively, drawing on humanistic, CBT, solution-focused, trauma-informed and developmental approaches to support children, adolescents and adults. Orla believes deeply in each person’s innate capacity for growth and offers a therapeutic space where clients feel heard, valued and understood.


She holds an MA in Child & Adolescent Integrative Psychotherapy and a BSc in Counselling & Psychotherapy, with additional specialist training in neurodiversity and mediation. Through her work in charities, private clinics and private practice, Orla has developed a nuanced understanding of the emotional, relational and systemic challenges faced by children, adolescents and adults.


Approach:

Orla has a particular interest in neurodiversity (including ASD and ADHD), anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, emotional regulation, school-related anxiety, exam stress, family issues and perimenopause. She is a fully accredited member of the IACP and works in line with professional and ethical guidelines, offering a compassionate, respectful and empowering therapeutic relationship.

Lili Muriel Bennett - Kilkenny

About:

Lili works with children, teens, and adults. She is fully accredited by the IACP (Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), she holds a Masters in Education Psychology and a Masters in Clinical and School counselling. Lili has worked in private practice and in schools and colleges as a counsellor. Her varied background has led her to work with issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, grief and loss, life transitions, military families, educational challenges, ADD/ADHD, ASD, neurodiversity, gender and sexual identity, low self-esteem, behavioural challenges. Lili is trauma informed.  


Approach:

Lili’s approach to counselling is person centered, collaborative, developmentally and culturally appropriate. She looks to establish the individual’s unique needs and goals and make a joint therapeutic plan. She believes that knowledge is empowering so will often use psychoeducation to draw links between how a person feels, thinks, responds, and the effects on their bodies which leads to greater self understanding and compassion. She understands that change and understanding takes time and will support the individual at whichever stage they are at. 


Lili uses a variety of counselling techniques to suit the individual’s needs. These can include CBT, choice theory, Gestalt, narrative, motivational, play and art therapy, group and family therapy.

DANIELLE O'LEARY - Kilkenny

About:

Danielle is a psychotherapist who is currently completing a Level 9 Master’s in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy. She is developing her clinical skills in supporting children and young people with a range of emotional and developmental challenges, including anxiety, low mood, emotional regulation, self-esteem and neurodivergent experiences.


She is a fully accredited member of the IACP and is committed to ongoing professional development. Alongside her training, Danielle brings experience of working therapeutically with adults and couples, which informs her understanding of relational dynamics and family systems when supporting young people and their families.


Approach:

Danielle believes that effective therapy begins with creating a sense of safety and trust, allowing children and adolescents to explore their experiences at their own pace. Her approach is warm, collaborative and inclusive, offering a neuro-affirming and respectful space.


She works integratively, drawing on client-centred therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Gestalt therapy, adapting her approach to suit each young person’s individual needs and developmental stage.
